Introduction :

Mahindra Lifespace Developers, the Mahindra Group’s major real estate and infrastructure development business, is celebrating a historic feat with the successful sales of India’s pioneering net-zero waste + energy residential project, Mahindra Vista, located in Kandivali East, Mumbai. In just three days after debut, the project’s sales exceeded Rs 800 crore, indicating a strong interest in sustainable living among homeowners.

Sustainability in Mahindra Vista :

Mahindra Vista is a shining example of sustainable living, combining innovative design with environmental concern. The project’s design incorporates climate-responsive concepts, allowing it to generate 100% of its electricity from renewable sources. This is expected to save around 18 lakh dh of electricity via active and passive energy conservation strategies, which is comparable to lighting 212 houses.
Furthermore, Mahindra Vista intends to divert around 8 lakh kg of waste from landfills, which is equivalent to around 786 tonnes of waste. Water conservation techniques, such as low-flow fixtures and sewage wastewater treatment, are also being implemented, with a 53% reduction in external water use expected. Notably, Mahindra Vista has a lush urban forest with over 1,000 indigenous trees, which boosts local biodiversity.

Environmental Impact and Vision :

Vimalendra Singh, chief business officer (residential) – West at Mahindra Lifespace Developers, emphasises the project’s importance in combating climate change and lowering carbon emissions. With Mumbai emitting about 23 million tonnes of CO2 per year, Mahindra Vista represents a significant step towards the Mahindra Group’s 2040 carbon neutrality ambitions. The pledge to convert to entirely Net Zero buildings by 2030 demonstrates Mahindra Lifespaces’ commitment to a sustainable future.

Project highlights :

Mahindra Vista covers 7.74 acres and has around 3.5 acres of groomed greens, featuring a biophilic-roof clubhouse. The finely constructed Colonnade pathway and infinity-edge pool contribute to the project’s aesthetic attractiveness. Mahindra Vista, which offers apartments ranging from 1 to 4 BHK, prioritises natural light, air circulation, and perfect connection with the surroundings. Phase 1 of the project consists of three buildings that house a total of 601 units of various typologies.

Conclusion :

Mahindra Vista represents a paradigm change towards sustainable living, combining contemporary design with environmental management. The project’s exceptional sales performance in just three days demonstrates the growing desire for environmentally sensitive residential buildings. As Mahindra Lifespace Developers works towards carbon neutrality, Mahindra Vista exemplifies the possibility of combining modern living with environmental stewardship.
