Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts Introduction :

Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts (TKAP), a Toyota Group subsidiary, has received the Domestic Value Addition (DVA) Certificate for xEV Transaxle (e-Drive) under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) goods. This milestone allows TKAP to benefit from the Scheme’s incentives while also contributing to the localization and progress of electrified vehicle components in India.

Localised Production and Certification :

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certified TKAP’s xEV Transaxle after it successfully satisfied the severe testing standards of modern automotive technology. TKAP, founded in 2002, specialises in the production and distribution of vehicle rear axles, propeller shafts and gearbox units, cementing its place as a vital player in the Toyota group.

Expansion and Electricity Hub :

In 2022, TKAP opened an advanced production plant specialised to producing xEV Transaxles for Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s domestic consumption and sale to Japan and other Asian markets. This factory, the fourth of its sort outside Japan, has an annual installed capacity of 135,000 units. The xEV Transaxle is a vital component of a variety of electrified vehicle technologies, including SHEV, PHEV, BEV, FCEV, and FFV-SHEV, establishing India as Toyota Asia’s electrification hub.

Localization efforts :
